Oaksterdam is a university where people learn how to work in the cannabis industry.
The other day, I walked down to Oaksterdam with some friends to see what it is all about.  I did not know what it was or what to expect. I thought that it was a place where people sell weed.

I was taken aback at first, but when I looked around I was surprised that it was not a pot club.  It is a school! Classes are available in Oakland and Los Angeles. They have instructors, textbooks, basic and advanced seminars.  Assistance with employment and internships is available after completing the program.

I was not disappointed because it is not a club. Now I know there is a university I can attend if I ever want to learn how to grow marijuana and work in a cannabis club.  I smoke because I am more productive. Weed makes it possible for me to get stuff done, such as applying for food stamps, getting general assistance and going to my different appointments. I feel more motivated and willing to get out of the house to deal with stupid idiots. The only place you can get marijuana legally is at a cannabis club.

The reason I was prescribed medical marijuana is for chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia. Normal side effects associated with HIV. It takes my mind off the fact that I am HIV positive. It helps me deal with the sadness and depression brought on from dealing with my “HIV” reality. I feel like the marijuana takes me to another place, it puts me in a good mood. It makes me feel happy, like I am flying on a cloud far away from all my pain and worries.

I had the expectation that I could buy pot at Oaksterdam, that's why I was interested in taking a walk there. However, Oaksterdam is here to provide educational evidence that marijuana has medical uses. In all, Oaksterdam is a nice place to go.
